New OTT Releases This Weekend: Lust Stories 3, Irumudi, Thudakkam and More



The September 18–20, 2026 weekend brings a fresh batch of movies, series and specials to India's major streaming platforms, with new releases spanning Bollywood, South Indian cinema, comedy, romance, thrillers and international drama.

Among the notable arrivals are Netflix's Lust Stories 3, Ravi Teja's Irumudi, Vismaya Mohanlal's Thudakkam and Zakir Khan's Papa Yaar.

Lust Stories 3 — Netflix

The third instalment of Netflix's anthology Lust Stories arrived on September 18.

The film features four independent stories directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Shakun Batra, Vishal Bhardwaj and Kiran Rao. The ensemble includes Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Apte, Aditi Rao Hydari, Siddharth, Radhika Madan, Ali Fazal, Vijay Varma and others.

Irumudi — Netflix

Ravi Teja's Irumudi began streaming on Netflix on September 18.

The Telugu film is also available in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It stars Ravi Teja alongside Nakshathra C M, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Sai Kumar and is directed by Shiva Nirvana.

The story centres on a father searching for his missing daughter and combines family drama with a spiritual backdrop.

Thudakkam — JioHotstar

Thudakkam, starring Vismaya Mohanlal in her acting debut, started streaming on JioHotstar on September 18.

Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the Malayalam action thriller follows Meenu, a young woman whose peaceful life changes after an unexpected crisis. The film is available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

Papa Yaar — Netflix

Comedian Zakir Khan returned with his new stand-up special Papa Yaar on Netflix on September 18.

The special draws on Zakir's childhood memories and his relationship with his father, combining comedy with personal reflections on family and growing up. Netflix officially confirmed the September 18 premiere.

Best of the Best — Netflix

Netflix also released Best of the Best on September 18.

The coming-of-age story follows two childhood friends who join UCLA's competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team while preparing for a national championship.

Kattalan — SonyLIV

Malayalam action thriller Kattalan also arrived on September 18 on SonyLIV.

The film is set around rival ivory-poaching operations in the Kerala–Tamil Nadu border region and stars Antony Varghese, Sunil and Kabir Duhan Singh.

The Scandal — Netflix

For K-drama viewers, Netflix released The Scandal, a period romance set during Korea's Joseon Dynasty.

The series stars Son Ye-jin, Ji Chang-wook and Nana and is inspired by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' novel Les Liaisons dangereuses.

Minerva Academy — Netflix

Netflix's Minerva Academy is set inside a tightly controlled military academy in Naples.

The series follows three cadets navigating strict discipline, relationships and secrets within the institution. It also premiered on September 18.

Waiting Hai — Amazon MX Player / Prime Video

The Hindi series Waiting Hai arrived on September 16 and remains part of this weekend's new streaming lineup.

Starring Divyenndu, Bhuvan Arora, Kumud Mishra and Harshita Shekhar Gaur, the series follows a railway police officer investigating a Tatkal ticketing scam. Amazon's listing confirms the first season's September 16 release.
