Bhuvan Bam Leads Historical OTT Series The Revolutionaries on Prime Video

Bhuvan Bam takes on one of the most significant acting roles of his career in The Revolutionaries, a historical period series now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Directed and created by Nikkhil Advani, the eight-episode series explores a lesser-known chapter of India's freedom struggle through the stories of young revolutionaries who chose armed resistance against British rule. The series premiered worldwide on September 11, 2026.

Bhuvan Bam Plays Rash Behari Bose

Bhuvan Bam portrays Rash Behari Bose, one of the central figures in the series.

The main ensemble also includes Rohit Saraf as Sachindranath Sanyal, Pratibha Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri and Gurfateh Pirzada as Bagha Jatin. Jason Shah plays British officer Lt. Col. Reginald Dyer.

The series also features Paoli Dam, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Neil Bhoopalam, Avijit Dutt, Pratik Motwani and others.

A Story Set in 1912

The story is set around 1912, against the backdrop of British-ruled India.

Prime Video describes the series as following four young revolutionaries — Rash Behari Bose, Bagha Jatin, Sachindranath Sanyal and Pratibha Lahiri — as they attempt to build an armed resistance against the British Raj.

The opening episode begins with an assassination attempt against the Viceroy, after which the British authorities launch an investigation and pursuit of those responsible.

The narrative explores the revolutionaries' relationships, sacrifices, betrayals and efforts to build a wider network against colonial rule.

Based on Sanjeev Sanyal's Book

The Revolutionaries is inspired by economist and author Sanjeev Sanyal's non-fiction book Revolutionaries: The Other Story of How India Won Its Freedom.

The book examines revolutionary movements that operated alongside the better-known political movements of India's independence struggle. Prime Video says the series adapts some of the people and events discussed in Sanyal's work into a dramatized historical story.

The series therefore focuses on figures and events that have received less screen attention compared with some of the more widely portrayed leaders of the independence movement.

Nikkhil Advani Creates the Series

Nikkhil Advani serves as the creator and director of the series.

The show is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. The writing team includes Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta.

Eight Episodes on Prime Video

Season 1 contains eight episodes. Prime Video currently lists all episodes as available to stream.

The episodes follow the revolutionary network as it develops and faces increasing pressure from British authorities.

The series combines historical events with fictionalised dramatic storytelling, so individual scenes and character interactions should be understood within that dramatized format rather than as a documentary reconstruction.

A Different Role for Bhuvan Bam

For Bhuvan Bam, the series represents a move into a major historical-drama role after becoming widely known through digital entertainment.

His portrayal of Rash Behari Bose places him at the centre of a period story involving underground networks, political resistance and the British colonial administration.

The series is available to stream on Prime Video in India and internationally.
