Police Personnel Injured as Violence Erupts During Jantar Mantar Protest

Violence erupted during a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, leaving several police personnel injured and prompting authorities to strengthen security in the area.

According to officials, tensions escalated after a section of protesters allegedly attempted to breach security barricades, leading to clashes with police. During the confrontation, stones and other objects were reportedly thrown, resulting in injuries to multiple police personnel deployed for maintaining law and order.

Security forces acted to disperse the crowd and restore normalcy. Additional personnel were rushed to the protest site, while emergency medical teams treated the injured officers. Authorities said the situation was later brought under control.

Police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible for the violence. CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined, and legal action will be taken against individuals found involved in attacking security personnel or damaging public property.

Officials have appealed for calm and urged protesters to maintain peaceful demonstrations within the framework of the law. Security arrangements around Jantar Mantar remain heightened to prevent any further disturbances.

The administration has reiterated that while peaceful protests are a democratic right, any act of violence or damage to public property will be dealt with strictly under the law.
