Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh are set to hold another round of talks with a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) delegation as efforts continue to resolve the standoff over examination reforms and the ongoing student protests.
The meeting comes amid sustained demonstrations over alleged irregularities in national-level examinations and demands for stronger measures to prevent paper leaks.
CJP representatives have been pressing the government on three major demands, including the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The organisation has also sought measures for families affected by examination-related incidents and protection for peaceful protesters.
The latest dialogue represents another attempt by the Centre and protest representatives to find common ground after days of demonstrations in Delhi.
WHAT THE TALKS WILL FOCUS ON
The discussions are expected to focus heavily on reforms to India's examination system and measures aimed at preventing future paper leaks.
CJP representatives have also submitted suggestions for improving transparency and accountability in the examination process.
The government has indicated that it is willing to discuss reforms and other concerns raised by the protesters. However, the demand concerning Dharmendra Pradhan remains a major point of disagreement between the two sides.
Earlier rounds of discussions involved JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh along with CJP representatives, as the government sought to establish a direct channel of communication with the protesters.
Meanwhile, demonstrations have continued in Delhi, keeping pressure on the Centre for a concrete response to the protesters' demands.
The outcome of the fresh talks could prove important in determining whether the agitation moves towards a resolution or continues in the coming days.
