EPFO Urges Employers to Use 2026 Amnesty and Compliance Schemes

The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has appealed to employers across the country to make use of the 2026 Amnesty and Compliance Schemes aimed at improving adherence to provident fund regulations and resolving pending compliance issues.

According to EPFO, the schemes provide eligible establishments with an opportunity to regularize outstanding matters, update records and strengthen compliance with the Employees' Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act. Officials said the initiative is intended to encourage voluntary compliance while reducing long-pending disputes.

The organization has advised employers to review their EPF records, complete pending declarations and rectify any discrepancies within the prescribed timelines. EPFO believes that greater participation in the schemes will improve transparency and ensure that employees receive their provident fund benefits without unnecessary delays.

Officials also emphasized that timely compliance helps protect workers' social security benefits, including provident fund savings, pension entitlements and insurance coverage available under the EPFO framework.

The organization has urged businesses, industries and other eligible establishments not to wait until the last moment and to utilize the schemes for resolving pending issues in accordance with applicable rules.

EPFO stated that the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to strengthen compliance, simplify procedures and enhance the delivery of social security benefits to millions of employees across the country.
