Sigma, the directorial debut of filmmaker Jason Sanjay, has officially arrived in theatres. The Sundeep Kishan-starrer was released on October 2, 2026, in Tamil and Telugu, marking the beginning of Jason Sanjay’s career as a feature-film director.

Sundeep Kishan Leads the Film

Sigma stars Sundeep Kishan in the lead role, with Faria Abdullah among the principal cast. The film is positioned as an action-adventure heist drama involving a treasure hunter and a high-stakes operation.

The cast also includes Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj and Shiv Panditt.

Jason Sanjay’s Directorial Debut

The film marks the first feature-length directorial project of Jason Sanjay, who is the son of actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay.

Jason had previously announced the October 2 release after the film's original July 31 date was postponed.

Certified for Theatrical Release

Sigma completed its certification process ahead of release and received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. Reports based on the certification information put the film's runtime at around two hours and 20 minutes.

Opening Day in Theatres

The film opened across theatres on October 2. Early box-office tracking reported an India net collection of approximately ₹2.35 crore on Day 1, with the Tamil version contributing the largest share.

The film is currently playing in theatres, with audience and critical reactions emerging during its opening weekend.

A New Chapter for Jason Sanjay

Beyond its box-office performance, Sigma represents Jason Sanjay's first major step into filmmaking. The project also brings together Lyca Productions, Sundeep Kishan and a predominantly South Indian cast for an action-oriented theatrical release.

TVR Perspective

The significance of Sigma goes beyond its opening numbers. The film introduces Jason Sanjay as a director while giving Sundeep Kishan another major theatrical release.
