Toxic OTT Deal Reportedly Crashes From ₹200 Crore to ₹30 Crore

Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is reportedly facing another major setback, with the film’s OTT valuation said to have plunged to around ₹30 crore after its disappointing theatrical performance.

According to multiple reports, the makers had earlier received an offer of around ₹150 crore for the post-theatrical streaming rights but were reportedly seeking more than ₹200 crore, expecting the film’s box-office performance to strengthen its digital value.

From ₹200 Crore Expectations to ₹30 Crore

The reported change represents a dramatic fall in the film’s digital prospects. Reports now suggest that streaming platforms are offering as little as ₹30 crore for the rights across languages.

Importantly, the OTT deal is reportedly not officially closed yet, so the ₹30 crore figure should be treated as a reported current offer rather than a confirmed final deal.

Box Office Performance Hurts Digital Value

Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, opened strongly but reportedly struggled to maintain momentum because of negative audience response and word-of-mouth.

The film was made on an estimated ₹500 crore budget, making the reported decline in its OTT valuation particularly significant.

Makers Reportedly Considering a New OTT Cut

Reports also indicate that the makers are considering a separately edited version for OTT, potentially making the film more suitable for a wider streaming audience and improving its commercial prospects.

The film's adult-oriented content has also reportedly created challenges for its television and satellite prospects.

For now, the biggest question is whether Toxic can recover some of its lost value through a new streaming strategy. The ₹30 crore figure remains a reported offer, not a confirmed final OTT sale.
