Sigma Trailer Launch: Jason Sanjay Makes Directorial Debut With Sundeep Kishan Heist Thriller



The trailer of Sigma, the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, was unveiled at a trailer and audio launch event in Chennai on September 18, with filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli presenting the trailer. The film stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah and is scheduled to release in theatres on October 2, 2026.

A ₹500 Crore Heist at the Centre

The trailer introduces Sundeep Kishan as a radio host who becomes caught up in an underworld operation involving a reported ₹500 crore racket.

The criminal network is led by Kotlapadi Veeraiya Reddy, played by Sampath Raj. The story combines crime, action, humour and a heist plot as the protagonist becomes involved in a situation he initially did not choose.

Jason Sanjay's Directorial Debut

Sigma marks Jason Sanjay's first film as a director. He has written the film alongside Ajaiy Ashok and Kaleel Raja, with additional screenplay contributions from Kaleel Raja, Sanjeev S and Ajaiy Ashok.

Jason is the son of actor and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay. At the launch event, Jason spoke about the support he received from his family and filmmaking team.

Vijay is not expected to participate in the film's promotional campaign. Jason has said his father is looking forward to watching the film but will allow him to establish his own identity as a filmmaker.

Rajamouli Launches the Trailer

S.S. Rajamouli presented the trailer at the launch event. Reports say he described Sigma as a fun adventure with a Gen-Z action approach.

The trailer itself emphasizes fast-paced action, a large-scale criminal operation and comic situations surrounding Sundeep Kishan's character.

Cast and Crew

Alongside Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, the film features Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Sheela Rajkumar, Magalakshmi, Kamalesh and Kiran Konda.

Thaman S has composed the music, while Krishnan Vasant is the cinematographer and Praveen K.L. handles editing. The film is produced by Subaskaran under Lyca Productions.

October 2 Theatrical Release

Sigma is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2, 2026.

The trailer now gives audiences their first substantial look at Jason Sanjay's filmmaking style and the film's combination of heist, crime, action and comedy.
