Sajid Nadiadwala Announces Three-Film Australia Deal, Includes Heyy Babyy 2

Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala has announced a three-film production deal with Australia, expanding Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s long-standing association with the country.

The announcement was made on September 3 during the Mumbai visit of New South Wales Premier Chris Minns, who visited the production house as part of his India tour.

Heyy Babyy 2 Set to Return to Australia

The biggest reveal from the announcement is Heyy Babyy 2, the sequel to the 2007 comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan.

The original Heyy Babyy was set and filmed in Sydney, New South Wales. Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment's official film page confirms the Australian setting of the first film.

The sequel will therefore take the franchise back to Australia nearly two decades after the original.

Three Upcoming Films to Shoot in Australia

Under the new collaboration, three upcoming Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment productions will be filmed in Australia through Sydney-based TEMPLE.

While Heyy Babyy 2 has been identified as one of the projects, details of the other two films have not yet been publicly revealed.

Nadiadwala said his previous experiences in Australia had encouraged the production house to make the country an important destination for future projects.

Chris Minns Welcomes Bollywood Collaboration

NSW Premier Chris Minns welcomed the decision, describing Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment's choice of Australia as a major vote of confidence in the state's screen industry.

The collaboration is expected to create opportunities for local crews, creative professionals and businesses, while also showcasing New South Wales to Indian audiences.

The partnership comes as Australia and India continue to develop closer ties in film and entertainment production.

A Long Association With Australia

For Nadiadwala, the announcement builds on an association that dates back to the original Heyy Babyy.

The production house has now signalled its intention to make Australia a recurring location for its future projects, citing its filming infrastructure, professional crews and locations.

Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment is also marking 75 years of the family's involvement in the entertainment industry, according to the production house's own profile.

What This Means for Heyy Babyy 2

The confirmation of Heyy Babyy 2 marks the return of one of Bollywood's popular comedy franchises.

However, details about the sequel's complete cast, director, story and release date have not yet been officially announced in the latest announcement.

For now, the confirmed development is that the sequel is part of the three-film Australia shooting collaboration.

The deal could also strengthen the creative connection between the Indian and Australian film industries, particularly as both sides look to expand opportunities for international productions.

With Heyy Babyy 2 returning to the country that featured prominently in the original film, the Australia schedule adds a nostalgic element to the franchise's comeback.
