Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe Opens in Theatres With Preity Zinta’s Return to the Big Screen

Kunal Kemmu’s action-comedy Vibe has opened in theatres across India, arriving on September 18, 2026. The film marks Kemmu’s second directorial venture after Madgaon Express and features Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir in key roles.

The release is also notable for Preity Zinta’s return to the big screen in a major role.

Kunal Kemmu Directs and Stars

Vibe is written and directed by Kunal Kemmu, who also plays one of the film’s central characters.

The story follows two ordinary friends whose lives take an unexpected turn when they become caught up in a high-stakes national-security situation. The film combines action and comedy around the unlikely pair's attempt to deal with circumstances far beyond their usual lives.

Preity Zinta Returns to Theatres

Preity Zinta is one of the biggest names attached to the project.

The actress, known for films including Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Veer-Zaara, returns to theatrical cinema with Vibe after a limited number of screen appearances in recent years.

Her role is central to the film's mission-driven storyline, with the character helping guide the two unlikely protagonists through the unfolding crisis.

Sparsh Shrivastava Joins the Lead Cast

Sparsh Shrivastava, who gained wider attention through Laapataa Ladies, plays the other central friend alongside Kemmu.

The supporting cast includes Vanshika Dhir, Yashpal Sharma, Dinesh Lal Yadav and Sharmila Tagore, among others.

Amazon MGM and Drongo Films Back the Film

Vibe is produced by Drongo Films with Amazon MGM Studios backing the theatrical release. The project represents Drongo Films' production debut.

The film released alongside several other theatrical titles on September 18, creating a crowded weekend for Hindi cinema.

Vibe Begins Its Theatrical Run

Early box-office tracking varies between sources. Moneycontrol, citing Sacnilk, reported an India net opening-day collection of ₹1.70 crore, while other tracking services have reported different estimates. Such early figures can change as final distributor and trade data becomes available.

The film is now playing in cinemas, with its theatrical performance to be determined over the full opening weekend and subsequent weeks.
