Bigg Boss Expands Across Six Languages With Biggest-Ever India-Wide Rollout
The Bigg Boss franchise has expanded its footprint across India, with six editions now running across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bangla as part of JioStar's biggest multi-language rollout of the reality television franchise.
For the first time, the six editions have been brought together during the same festive-season window, creating a pan-India Bigg Boss ecosystem across regional audiences. JioStar announced the expansion ahead of the September 2026 launches.
Six Languages, Six Hosts
The expanded franchise is being led by some of India's biggest entertainment and sports personalities.
Salman Khan continues as the Hindi host for Bigg Boss 20, while Sourav Ganguly leads the Bangla edition. Vijay Sethupathi hosts Tamil, Nagarjuna leads Telugu, Kiccha Sudeep returns for Kannada and Mohanlal continues with Malayalam.
The combination gives each regional edition its own identity while keeping the wider Bigg Boss brand connected across the country.
A New Pan-India Strategy
The simultaneous expansion represents a major change in how the franchise is being positioned.
JioStar says the six editions are designed to allow brands to think nationally while connecting with audiences locally, using the franchise's reach across different languages and markets.
The company has also highlighted the commercial strength of Bigg Boss, saying the franchise reached more than 500 million people and generated over 438 billion viewing minutes across languages in 2025.
Bigg Boss 20 Leads the Hindi Edition
In Hindi, Bigg Boss 20 premiered on September 6 with Salman Khan returning as host.
The milestone season is available through JioHotstar and Colors TV, while the regional editions are being rolled out through the JioStar television network and JioHotstar.
The first week has already generated significant attention, with Bigg Boss 20 recording 64 lakh viewers during the August 31–September 6 measurement period, according to data cited from Ormax Media.
A Bigger Reality-TV Universe
With six editions spanning India's major television languages, Bigg Boss is moving beyond being a single flagship Hindi reality show into a large-scale regional entertainment franchise.
The expansion also gives advertisers access to different linguistic markets while allowing viewers to connect with hosts, contestants and stories that are closer to their own regional audiences.
For Bigg Boss, the six-language rollout marks a significant new phase — one national franchise, six regional identities and millions of viewers across India.
