Parvathy Thiruvothu has reportedly joined the cast of Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming aviation thriller Captain India, adding another major name to the highly anticipated project.

Directed by Shimit Amin, the film is inspired by a major Indian humanitarian rescue operation and will see Kartik Aaryan playing a pilot at the centre of the mission.

According to reports, Parvathy has been signed for a prominent role in Captain India.

The makers have kept details of her character under wraps, but reports indicate that her role will be important to the narrative.

Her addition brings together two performers known for taking on challenging and performance-driven roles.

Captain India marks the return of filmmaker Shimit Amin to feature-film direction.

Amin is known for acclaimed films including Chak De! India and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year.

His return after a long gap has added considerable interest to the project.

Parvathy Thiruvothu has established herself as one of the leading performers in Malayalam cinema through films such as Take Off, Koode, Uyare and Bangalore Days.

She made her Hindi film debut with Qarib Qarib Singlle opposite Irrfan Khan and later appeared in projects including Kadak Singh and Tu Yaa Main.

Interestingly, Take Off was also based around a major humanitarian rescue mission, making Captain India another project in which Parvathy is associated with a high-stakes rescue story.

Actor Manish Chaudhary has also reportedly joined Captain India in an important role.

With Kartik Aaryan, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Manish Chaudhary now linked to the project, the film is building a strong ensemble around its central rescue story.

Captain India is being produced by Harman Baweja’s Baweja Studios and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.

The project has reportedly already been filmed in India and Morocco, with further production work scheduled as the makers move towards completing the film.

The makers have not yet revealed Parvathy’s character or released the complete details of the film’s storyline.

The project is currently expected to release in 2027, with Bollywood Hungama listing August 13, 2027 as its release date.
