Heavy Rain & Flood Alert Issued Across Multiple States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rain and flood alerts for multiple states as an active monsoon system continues to bring widespread rainfall across the country.

According to the latest weather advisories, several regions are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds over the coming days. Authorities have warned that low-lying areas may face waterlogging, while rivers and reservoirs could witness rising water levels.

Disaster management teams have been placed on alert in vulnerable districts, particularly in flood-prone and hilly regions where landslides and flash floods remain a concern. Local administrations have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from flooded roads and follow official weather advisories.

Transport services, including road and rail operations, may experience temporary disruptions due to intense rainfall. Emergency response teams are monitoring the situation and are prepared to carry out rescue and relief operations if required.

The IMD has advised fishermen to avoid venturing into rough sea conditions along affected coastal areas. Citizens are encouraged to keep emergency supplies ready, monitor official weather updates and report any emergency situations to local authorities.

Officials continue to closely monitor the evolving monsoon conditions, with further advisories expected if the weather system intensifies over the next few days.
