Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 is continuing its strong run at the global box office, moving within touching distance of the ₹170 crore worldwide milestone after eight days in theatres.

The romantic action thriller, directed by Nitin Kakkar, released on August 14 and has maintained solid momentum into its second week. According to industry tracker Sacnilk figures reported by multiple outlets, the film’s worldwide gross reached approximately ₹169.17 crore after Day 8.

The film has become a major career milestone for Emraan Hashmi.

Awarapan 2 has already surpassed his previous solo-film records and emerged as the highest-grossing solo film of his career.

The success represents a significant comeback for the actor, particularly because the original Awarapan, released in 2007, developed a cult following despite its modest theatrical performance.

Awarapan 2 opened strongly and crossed the ₹100 crore mark in India within its first few days.

The film’s first week remained particularly impressive, with audiences continuing to support the sequel despite competition from other releases.

Its second-week performance has so far remained steady, helping the film approach the ₹170 crore worldwide mark.

The performance of Awarapan 2 has exceeded the expectations surrounding the sequel.

The original film became popular over the years through television, streaming and word of mouth, developing a loyal fan base.

The sequel has successfully converted that nostalgia into theatrical interest.

Emraan Hashmi reprises his role as Shivam Pandit in Awarapan 2.

The sequel continues the character’s emotional and action-driven journey while introducing new conflicts and relationships.

The film also features Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi in important roles.

With the film entering its second weekend, the ₹170 crore worldwide milestone is now within reach.

If the current momentum continues, Awarapan 2 could cross the mark shortly and continue building its position as one of the biggest Hindi hits of 2026.

However, upcoming releases could affect its screen count and daily collections.

The success of Awarapan 2 has also revived interest in the franchise.

The original Awarapan is remembered particularly for its music, emotional storyline and Emraan Hashmi’s performance.

The sequel’s strong theatrical response could potentially open the door for further discussions about the franchise’s future.

Awarapan 2 has emerged as a major box-office success, reaching approximately ₹169.17 crore worldwide after eight days.

The film has already become Emraan Hashmi’s highest-grossing solo film, turning the sequel into one of the biggest success stories of his career.

With ₹170 crore now within touching distance, Awarapan 2 is showing remarkable staying power in its second week.
