Jantar Mantar Protest Enters Day 2 Amid Heavy Security in Delhi

The protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar entered its second day on Tuesday, with security remaining tight across the national capital as demonstrators continued to press their demands.

Delhi Police maintained a heavy deployment around Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street and nearby areas, installing multiple barricades and restricting movement at several locations to prevent any disruption to public order. Security personnel, including paramilitary forces, remained on alert throughout the day.

Despite the heightened security presence, protesters continued their demonstration at the designated site, saying their agitation would continue until their demands were addressed. Organizers urged participants to remain peaceful while authorities monitored the gathering through surveillance and crowd-control measures.

The increased security follows clashes that erupted during attempts by some protesters to march towards Parliament, prompting police to tighten access around sensitive government locations. Authorities have appealed to the public to avoid restricted routes and cooperate with security personnel.

Traffic diversions and security checks were reported in parts of central Delhi, while police continued to assess the situation to ensure law and order. Officials have not announced any relaxation of the security arrangements.

The protest is expected to continue as demonstrators remain gathered at Jantar Mantar, with authorities keeping a close watch on developments.
