Government Accepts Key Protest Demands After Talks With Student Leaders

The government has accepted several key demands put forward by student protesters following a fresh round of discussions with representatives of the protest movement, marking a significant breakthrough after days of demonstrations.

According to officials, the talks focused on concerns related to the alleged examination paper leak, transparency in recruitment and examinations, and measures to strengthen accountability within the system.

Following the meeting, the government agreed to implement a number of immediate measures while assuring students that long-term reforms would also be introduced. Officials said the accepted demands include stronger action against those involved in paper leaks, faster investigations, and improved safeguards to ensure fair and transparent examinations.

Student representatives welcomed the progress made during the discussions, saying the government had responded positively to several of their core concerns. However, they also stressed that implementation of the announced measures would be closely monitored.

The breakthrough comes after sustained protests at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, where students from different states gathered to demand justice and reforms in the examination system.

Government officials reiterated their commitment to restoring public confidence in the recruitment and examination process, adding that further consultations would continue with student groups and other stakeholders.

The latest development is expected to ease tensions while shifting attention toward the implementation of the promised reforms and ensuring accountability in future examinations.
